Scrap the Boys Oct Challenge

Last day of the month, you know what that means- im trying to get my challenge entires uploaded on time before the cut offs lol.
So this month was a really cool sketch challenge over at scrap the boys. It was a multiple photo sketch which i usually stay away from, purely 'cause im terrible with multiple photos lol. But i decided to give this one a go. And then i saw these photos i had taken with my youngest and thought they would work. They are very similar photos so using them on the same layout made sense, i got to use all the photos without my layouts looking to similar. if that makes sense. well anyway, this is my layout.

Scrap the boys is always on of my fave challenges to do- i always have plenty of pics of my boys, so there is never any shortage of photos to scrap.

Thanks for looking and happy scrapping

Kaisercraft Oct Challenge

This month the challenge on the kaiser blog is a BINGO challenge.
The challenge is to pick a row, diagonal, vertical or horizontal, and use theose elements.
I chose the bottom horizontal row- Handwrittein journling, white backround, boarder and collectables. and this is the layout I created.

Dont hate me, i know its a Christmas layout, I know its only October. But i have still not finished 2015's December daily album lol. Yes i know, That's terrible. So i got out my xmas  stuff  to finish it off before it was time to start this years. So i had my stuff out, which lead to me going through my 2015 pics, which lead me to wanting to scrap our traditional santa phot. So that's how i got to making a Christmas layout in October lol.
I really do enjoy making christmas layouts. I love christmas scrapping.

Scrap the boys

So I have been really good with doing my challenges pretty early this month- just not so good at linking them up first!!!
I've been trying to get videos up to match, but I've been in such a hot streak making videos I haven't had the chance to finish editing these ones in time lol.
So I'm just goin to post the layouts and add the videos at a later date :)
So here is my layout for scrap the boys.

I adore this layout of me and my monkey. He is very snuggley when he wants to be. Hence the snuggle monkey title lol.
Hope you like the layout
Thanks for looking and happy scrapping.

Stuck sketches! Sept challenge

So this is my first time entering the stuck sketches challenge. But I do like to use sketches for inspiration. It's a great way to step away from your usually design and try something new.
And this is what I came up with.
I used the crate paper cool kid collection. It was oerfect for this photo of my youngest.
Thanks for looking and happy scrapping

Dlish scraps challenge

This months challenge at dlish was a gorgeous mood board.
I adore these colours together! And thought it suited my chosen photo really well. Being surrounded by bouts I do a lot of masculine stuff and rarely scrap myself and break out the pinks lol.
So this mood board was perfect for merging the 2.

And this is my layout. I love using mists and mixed media in my backrounds. I loved the 2 colours together and didn't want them to mix to make purple so I tried to keep them seperate. And I love the result. I also used the dlish just add paper kit aswell.

Scrap the girls- September challenge

So it turns out, although I did this layout almost 2 weeks ago- I totally forgot to post it!!
So here it is lol.
This is a picture of my gorgeous God daughter and I just mucking around one morning lol. We take great selfies lol.
And the challenge at scrap the girls this month was a sketch challenge.
So I decide to use mixed media, stamping, texture etc to follow the sketch. And I really do love how this one turned it. What do you think?

A tribute to dad- Artastic challenge

So this months challenge over at Artastic (http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/09/our-second-september-reveal.html?m=1)
was- A tribute to dad. This was the artwork features this month.
This is a great image tondraw inspiration from. Living here on the Gold Coast we are surround by beaches, and sown a lot of time there. On Father's Day this year we went to the beach and I had my camera with me and was able to snap some great pics of my boys. So I decided one of these photos suited this image perfectly. So here is my layout.
I love using mixed media on layouts- mist, paint, ink, you name it. I wanted the blue to stand out the most on this layout- to toe in the boys and the beach theme to the pic.

So I hope you've liked this layout and the challenge- check it out, it's a good one.

Kaisercraft blog challenge

So this month, the challenge at Kaisercraft was a tough one. It was a mood board based on there new winter Christmas collection.

So in a kit I received the papers from the new frosted collection. And I knew these papers would be hard for me to use. Mainly because Christmas is in summer here on my side of the world, and also because I'm a bright, red green and gold Christmas scrapper lol.
But then I thought about it, and I figured the light blue and silver of this kit I could  make work. And this is what I came up with.

So the first thing I did was reduce the vibrancy and saturation of my photo so it was more muted and suited the paper better. Obviously because she is in a gorgeous red dress, I didn't want that to clash with the papers too much.
After that it came together very quickly and rather simply.
It's a nice simple Christmas layout, and it's out of my comfort zone when it comes to Christmas colours.
In the end I was very happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for looking and happy scrapping.

Scrap the boys!

I'm Getting my last minute entry in for the scrap the boys challenge.
This months challenge was a good one- NOT HAPPY.
Scrap a tantrum or a sad face.
Lots of fun.
So I went looking through my photos thinking if have a good one for sure, and I just wasn't happy with any.
Then I came across this screen shot of a message I got.
It was a photo of my godson with the message "not impressed Aunty Chriatina".
You see, he and his family were making the 8 hr drive to my house from theirs, and he doesn't like the car lol.
So I decided to scrap the screen shot message :) and here is my page

So what do you think?

Father's Day card!!

So it has been a really long time
Since I made a card :)
But with Fathers Day comming up- and a kit of the new Kaisercraft barber shoppe collection, I thought I'd make a fathers day card for my hubby.

I'm
Usually not one for layering, I don't usually get it to look right- but I was really happy with the way this card turned out. Really happy with it.
So I cut a piece of cardstock to 6x12
Then folded it in half to get a 6x6 square card.

Scrap the girls challenge

So a new challenge today to get back into the swing of things. This months scrap the girls challenge was a mood board.
I love that the mood board is all blues.

And this is my entry

This is a lovely selfie of me in the warf at Moreton Island just getting off the tender host from our cruise ship.
We had a day of adventure planned so that's what i decided to journal about. I love the contrast between the blues and my bright shirt and the boat :)

Scrap it with a song :)

So I've been MIA for a while, lots of family stuff, but now we are trying to get back into the swing of things and get some sort of routine back. Routine is very important with 2 autistic boys, and our lack of has taken its toll on our little men. So back into the swing of things, routine back and visuals making everything predictable.

So in saying that, I'm trying to get back into my craft room and back to my "me" time as well. And I've found my mojo has been lagging a little- and when my mojo goes on hiatus I like to do a challenge or 2. Helps get it all flowing again. And I found some new challenges.
Like this one- the scrap it with a song challenge. The prompt was a song Meghan Trainirs Beter when I'm dancing. This made me think of how I feel when I listen to music, and what I do when I listen to my tunes.

I was having a scrappy chat in a favebook group just yesterday about what we listen to whilst scrapping. I always have music playing- and my playlist changes from week to week. So I decided to document this weeks playlist :) I did a page in my new travelers notebook to document this.
I also have a process video to go with this page. Would love you to check it out :)

Just so me!

It's been a while since I posted a layout on here. I've been so focused on my YouTube channel, the poor blog got left out lol.
But I'm back today with a new layout, this time for the June Kaisercraft challenge. Yes cutting it close I know!!! This months challenge was a mood board.

And I was inspired by the picture down the bottom and the lovely watercolour green.
So I decided to scrap this photo of me- something I don't do often at all. It's a lovely photo from one of my art journal aftermath. Lol
And this mood board made me think of that photo, and my art journal. So I thought this was the perfect photo to use for the mood board. And I knew I wanted to do a green wash for the backround, and I also merged that into a little bit of of yellow to blend. I used my mists and sprayed them into packaging.
And this is what I came up with.
I really like how this turned out.

And this is the layout I created for the sketch.
I really like how this layout turned out- I was unsure of the sketch but then I was inspired and happy with how it turned out. I also have a process video up in my YouTube channel of this layout.

Xoxo

So I was going through the photos on my hard drive the other day and found a photo from my sisters wedding that I just HAD to scrap. I loved the photo and could picture using this xoxo cut file behind it.

My sisters wedding colours were black and gold, do I decided to keep it simple using those colours.
I started with putting some vellum and gold glitter paper behind the xoxo. The only thing I would do different is I would put gold glitter behind the bottom xo instead of the one above it. But it's down now, so leaving it as it is.
Once the cut file was down I mounted my photo on some foam to pop it up and then added some more gold with some gold color shine.
Then I used a rub on saying forever and ever, made a banner and a small cluster and used that as my title- I just realised I forgot to add the tiny finishing touches of bling lol.
Like unsaid, just keeping it simple to focus on the photo and the gold on the cut file.

Scrapping Clearly ( and pleasantly surprised )

Tonight I started scrapping without having a process video in mind, and just scrapped for me. I saw the Scrapping Clearly challenge sketch and thought I'd give it a go.

I wanted to give it a go and I picked a photo to trim down to 4x4. I'm not usually one to layer like this- i don't usually like it. But I wanted to try this sketch and make it work for me.
I remembered I had some CTMH pocket page cards that would suit the photo perfectly. So undecided to use the pocket life cards to layer. And as my title suggests, I was pleasantly surprised with how I turned out. I wasn't expecting to like it, but info- I love this layout :)

I used some distress stain to create my splats and let them run down the page. I love the messy grunge look. Then I applied my layers- using my pocket page cards. My "title" is made of very small phrase stickers- I thought I'd try something different and I just love it :) it suits the picture we'll. It says "You are capable of becoming more then you realise."

New art journal page

This week I have an entry for the Simon Says Stanp Monday challenge. This weeks challenge was to
Make your own Background.
And seeing as all my art journal pages start with a background I thought it would be the perfect thing to do for this challenge.
And this is what I came up with...
I started with my dylusions. I applied with a card to mix the colours as I dragged the cars across the page. Then I added some distress stamps. I felt I had over done it so I got my paints back out and used my fingers to blend the paints and stamped images together. And I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks fi looking and happy scrapping

Art journalling again

So I have finally got some energy back and am, finally, once again finding inspiration in things.
Don't you just love it when the mojo is flowing so much that a quick sit down at the craft desk turns into hours long because the idea is just moving forward so much.
I saw this challenge on the Simon Say Stamp Wednesday challenge blog.

And I thought to myself, I have a great art journal page in mind for that. I could use modelling paste to create texture- something I do all the time.
Song started on a background and the ideas just kept coming. The inks were blending great, the colour was just what I was after. The quote I loved matched the layout perfectly, It was all going amazing.
Next thing I knew my alarm was going off telling me it was time to go get my son from school lol.
And this is what I created
It may not look like much but there is 4 different coloured inks in there lol. I will have to take a better picture with natural light tomorrow and hope it shows it better lol.

123 Challenge Blog

The March 123 challenge went live so I can now share with you my DT entry for their months challenge.
For this months challenge I decided to make an Art Journal page. I love art journaling and love to play with paints and ink and all sorts of messy things.
And this page came together really easily. As I was gathering my colours to fill the autumn colour criteria it all seemed to flow from there. I used red and orange dylusions paints and had a touch of brown on my pallet. I used an old card to drag the paint over the page- and in doing this the colours blended together beautifully.
I love this layout- thanks for stopping by, hope you will join us this month for our challenge.

123 Design Team- Feb Challenge

Over the weekend I was given the fantastic news that I had been accepted into the 123 Challenge Blog Design Team.
This is my first ever design team and I was so excited to get started.
This is my layout for this months board-
I like to use mixed media, inks, sprays, paints etc on my layouts, but at the same time I don't want all my layouts to always look the same or have the same formula. So I try and challenge myself to find different ways to use my fave techniques.
Here, I misted a scrap piece of card stock with dylusions inks in Post box red and Cherry Pie, and the cut and punched hearts from it. Using this on my black background really made the red stand out.

I'm looking forward to creating for the blog every month, and looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with- why not come give it a try.

2016 project life

So I'm an currently up to date with my 2016 project life!! Hahahaha
Seeing as it is only week 2, that's not too bad hahaha.
My first 2 spreads were Pocket Pages, but last night I added a 12x12 layout to compliment my second spread.

I did a spread of my boys at the park. But I loved this picture so much I wanted to give it its own spread.

I often do that in my PL album. I do my pocket page spread and then I 12x12 scrap my favourite photo.

This is my favourite photo of my son on the swing. I absolutely love his fave in this photo. He loves to swing so much and always wants to go higher- which makes me very nervous. But the look of outlaw joy on his face was something I wanted to document.

YouTube here I come!!

So I have just recently branched out into process video territory- and I LOVE IT!!
I started making process videos on the weekend, and haven't been able to stop! I even did voice overs- which is something j didn't think I could ever do!!!

I love watching process videos, and I love getting inspiration from them. Recording myself making layouts was defiantly a change, but oh how I love it.

So come on over to my channel- have a look around. I have a few videos up, but I am already in the process of editing and uploading even more.

2015 layout review

So I'm going through my 2015 albums, taking a little trip down memory lane- have to look through the albums once in a while, and I found some of my favourite PL spreads I wanted to share with you.
I don't know why, but I don't really blog much of my spreads- only the ones I create for challenges. But I thought I would start to blog more layouts, and I'm even in the process of creating my first few process videos- my son keeps stealing his iPad back so editing is taking a little longer then I'd like hahaha.

The first is a trip to the pirate park at Currumbin. My boys love this park.

I mix up my PL albums. I record events- like trips to the park, as well as random weeks here and there.

There's always something to document- even the every day stuff. This is why I love having an iPhone. I always have a camera on me so I don't miss anything.

One of my favourites.
I got these cards and embellishments in a kit last year and I wasn't sure what I was going to use them for- them I printed these photos and they were perfect!

Well thanks for looking at and

Too much cuteness

So I'm looking through my albums and I found one of my absolute favourite layouts that I didn't share with you all.
This is a layout of my 2 gorgeous nephews.
Scrapping a 4x4 pic is something new to me, but my sister is an Instagram addict and every pic she takes she edits for Instagram, so I'm stuck stealing the edited pic.
But I really like how it turned out. It pops out of the backround perfectly.

Thanks for looking and
Happy scrapping.
