Scrap the boys

So I have been really good with doing my challenges pretty early this month- just not so good at linking them up first!!!
I've been trying to get videos up to match, but I've been in such a hot streak making videos I haven't had the chance to finish editing these ones in time lol.
So I'm just goin to post the layouts and add the videos at a later date :)
So here is my layout for scrap the boys.

I adore this layout of me and my monkey. He is very snuggley when he wants to be. Hence the snuggle monkey title lol.
Hope you like the layout
Thanks for looking and happy scrapping.

Stuck sketches! Sept challenge

So this is my first time entering the stuck sketches challenge. But I do like to use sketches for inspiration. It's a great way to step away from your usually design and try something new.
And this is what I came up with.
I used the crate paper cool kid collection. It was oerfect for this photo of my youngest.
Thanks for looking and happy scrapping

Dlish scraps challenge

This months challenge at dlish was a gorgeous mood board.
I adore these colours together! And thought it suited my chosen photo really well. Being surrounded by bouts I do a lot of masculine stuff and rarely scrap myself and break out the pinks lol.
So this mood board was perfect for merging the 2.

And this is my layout. I love using mists and mixed media in my backrounds. I loved the 2 colours together and didn't want them to mix to make purple so I tried to keep them seperate. And I love the result. I also used the dlish just add paper kit aswell.
Thanks for looking and

Scrap the girls- September challenge

So it turns out, although I did this layout almost 2 weeks ago- I totally forgot to post it!!
So here it is lol.
This is a picture of my gorgeous God daughter and I just mucking around one morning lol. We take great selfies lol.
And the challenge at scrap the girls this month was a sketch challenge.
So I decide to use mixed media, stamping, texture etc to follow the sketch. And I really do love how this one turned it. What do you think?

A tribute to dad- Artastic challenge

So this months challenge over at Artastic (http://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/09/our-second-september-reveal.html?m=1)
was- A tribute to dad. This was the artwork features this month.
This is a great image tondraw inspiration from. Living here on the Gold Coast we are surround by beaches, and sown a lot of time there. On Father's Day this year we went to the beach and I had my camera with me and was able to snap some great pics of my boys. So I decided one of these photos suited this image perfectly. So here is my layout.
I love using mixed media on layouts- mist, paint, ink, you name it. I wanted the blue to stand out the most on this layout- to toe in the boys and the beach theme to the pic.

So I hope you've liked this layout and the challenge- check it out, it's a good one.

Kaisercraft blog challenge

So this month, the challenge at Kaisercraft was a tough one. It was a mood board based on there new winter Christmas collection.

So in a kit I received the papers from the new frosted collection. And I knew these papers would be hard for me to use. Mainly because Christmas is in summer here on my side of the world, and also because I'm a bright, red green and gold Christmas scrapper lol.
But then I thought about it, and I figured the light blue and silver of this kit I could  make work. And this is what I came up with.

So the first thing I did was reduce the vibrancy and saturation of my photo so it was more muted and suited the paper better. Obviously because she is in a gorgeous red dress, I didn't want that to clash with the papers too much.
After that it came together very quickly and rather simply.
It's a nice simple Christmas layout, and it's out of my comfort zone when it comes to Christmas colours.
In the end I was very happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for looking and happy scrapping.
